Originally from New South Wales, Margery Edwards (1933-1989) was an abstract-expressionist painter and printmaker based in New York from 1975 until her untimely death. Over the course of her career, she produced a large body of work of which many pieces have been acquired by major institutions and collections.

A substantial collection of Margery's artworks is currently held by the estate of Margery's husband, K.D.G Edwards (known as David). As representatives of David's estate, we have the responsibility of offering these artworks to Australian galleries and collections with an ongoing interest in sharing them for the purposes of viewing, appreciation and research in the fields of female Australian artists, printmaking, abstract expressionism and Australia-US cultural exchange.

New York-based artist and curator, Jeanne Wilkinson worked closely with David to catalogue the collection and present several retrospectives in the US and Australia. Catalogues and invitations for these and numerous other exhibitions of Margery's work are included here, as well as her writing and articles reviewing her work.

The photographed paintings and works-on-paper shown on the website represent a large group of Margery's works held in the estate in Sydney including a cache of 239 works-on-paper which make up a tranche for research and exhibition alongside diaries and notebooks that contextualise them.
